American Cancer Society - International

  • About Us

The mission of the American Cancer Society is to eliminate cancer as a major health problem. Because cancer is a global health problem, this mission extends around the world. Cancer is potentially the most preventable and the most curable of the major chronic life-threatening diseases. Unfortunately, it is still increasing as a leading killer across the globe, especially in the developing world. The American Cancer Society’s international program focuses on capacity building in developing cancer societies and on collaborating with other cancer-related organizations across the globe in carrying out our shared mission.
