About Us

Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church, Saint Thomas Church and Saint Patrick’s Cathedral created the Ecumenical Outreach Partnership (EOP) in June 2017. By working together, we are able to increase the level of support we provide to men, women and children experiencing homelessness and others in need of social services. This innovative partnership is based at Fifth Avenue Presbyterian Church (FAPC) and pursues street outreach and serves walk-in clients and individuals. In 2019, the EOP program served more than 1,000 people in desperate need coming through the doors of FAPC and reached more than 500 people on New York City streets.  The EOP program is focused on helping the homeless in our community by providing:

  • basic mental and physical health assessments, counseling and support;
  • guidance in finding shelter and nourishment;
  • help with addressing legal issues and securing basic ID documentation, citizenship status, work permits, and government/veterans’ benefits;
  • coaching on job training and searches;
  • providing clean, warm clothing and basic hygiene products;
  • access to and support with computers for job and housing searches, reconnecting with family and friends, and handling business affairs;
  • targeted transportation assistance; and
  • providing a safe, quiet area to engage caring professionals and volunteers who will listen and help without judging.
