Any Given Child Trenton is a program developed in partnership with of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts’ Ensuring the Arts for Any Given Child. This program focuses on creating a long-range arts education plan for Trenton students in grades PreK-12. Trenton is the 19th city across the nation to join the program. As a collective impact model, it establishes a Community Arts Team made up of district, city, business, higher education, philanthropic, and community members, with a backbone organization acting as an administrative lead and unifying entity.
Any Given Child Trenton seeks to bring access and equity to each student’s arts education, using a model that combines the resources of the school district, local arts and community organizations, and the Kennedy Center. In the first year, with the assistance provided by Kennedy Center staff and other professionals, community leaders developed a multi-year arts education plan to increase opportunities and participation in arts education for all district students.
Now in the third year of the program, a committee of community and district members works to implement this plan and strategically weave together existing arts resources within the schools with those available from community providers and the Kennedy Center in order to reach every child.
Since the program’s inception, Any Given Child Trenton has helped to bring attention to the importance of arts education which has led to the hiring of additional arts teachers, the launch of an arts integration professional development initiative, and community members and district staff coming together to deliver high-quality arts education to students.
AGCT is committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion in all its practices.
