MISSION: Our mission is to advance the choral arts through education, performance, and collaboration at the highest artistic level, fostering individual development and international relationships.
ORGANIZATION OVERVIEW: Since its founding in 1982, the internationally-acclaimed Piedmont Choirs is an organization devoted to guiding young singers to develop their fullest potential as choral artists. Led by founding Artistic Director Robert Geary, it provides a music education that enables children to become highly-skilled and sensitive musicians, and seeks to broaden their musical horizons on an international scale.
We aspire for the Piedmont Choirs to be the Center for the vocal arts education in the East Bay.
We strive to develop performers who compete at a world-class level, and to train young minds in teamwork, discipline and collaboration. We do so not only by engaging the best choral educators and vocal artists, but also by challenging our performers with innovative new music and collaborative performances with other outstanding performing arts organizations in the East Bay.
While remaining committed to producing artistic excellence on a world-class level, our commitment is to instill a greater sense of community in our children. We seek for the Piedmont Choirs to be accessible to school age children regardless of ethnicity or economic background. We believe that this experience will broaden the awareness of the value of the choral arts for dedicated musicians as well as the musically curious. We encourage our own choral members to serve as ambassadors to local youth organizations. Our graduates leave the Piedmont Choirs with exceptional musical artistry and life values that can make a difference in the world.
