About Us

Westside Community Focus, Inc. is a non-profit Corporation providing training, support, housing and advocacy to Developmentally Disabled adults. The keynote of Westside's purpose is education through living, to provide training to maximize the independence of all clients. This purpose is achieved through a home-like and/or apartment-like living situation. Training, assistance and/or guidance is offered in all regular daily living skills, such as hygiene, housekeeping, food preparation, socialization and money management. These training programs are tailored to each individual's need, goals and abilities.

The clients at Westside are individuals who have developmental disabilities or otherwise disabled, and who have the potential to deveop living skills. These clients range from 18 years of age and older and as mentioned before, range in level from severely MR/DD to borderline average intelligence. All clients are encouraged to be involved in a day program, whether paid or volunteer. Clients are referred to and screened through the program by County Mental Health Division.
