AMERICAN MALTESE ASSOCIATION RESCUE

  • Mission

American Maltese Association Rescue (AMAR) became a 501(c)3, national, non-profit organization in 2012. We’re 100% volunteer and provide adoption services for Maltese surrendered by their owners, found homeless, or who are pulled from shelters. Approved foster homes are utilized to care for these Maltese and Maltese mixes, some of whom were abused, sickly, and homeless, until such time as an adoptive family is approved. AMAR pays all of the medical bills for every dog we rescue, including, but not limited to spay, neuter, diagnostics, and dentals. AMAR also provides support and information to Maltese owners dealing with behavioral and health concerns, as well as education to the public on breed characteristics.
