Hudson Taconic Lands was formed through the 2024 merger of two local, grassroots organizations, each with a rich history of conservation and community engagement: the Rensselaer Plateau Alliance and Rensselaer Land Trust. As Hudson Taconic Lands, we honor and celebrate the journeys and achievements that have led to where we are today. We are excitedly planning and growing into the future, guided by the wisdom and experiences of both land trusts and their strong community partnerships and members.

Vision
Rensselaer County has an abundance of balanced and healthy ecosystems from the Taconic Hills to the Hudson River, with people valuing and caring for the land. Natural areas are recognized as integral to the well-being of people and nature in the region and are a source of pride in our communities. People regularly access outdoor spaces close to home, building connections with the land and one another. Mutual trust with the communities we serve allows us to work together to support a network of protected lands and resilient relationships rooted in conservation.
