Plainville Wind Ensemble

  • Mission

Our mission is to provide an educational, social, and performing environment for local musicians in the tradition of the community band.

    About Us

The Plainville Wind Ensemble, a symphonic band, is a place where amateur and professional musicians gather to rehearse and perform together. The 80 members are adults from local cities and towns throughout CT. Our goal is to be able to provide free concerts to an already financially burdened public. Our concerts often benefit another non-profit organization, assisting them to raise donations and awareness of their cause. We also provide the opportunity for two High School student musicians to rehearse and perform with the band, thus promoting the arts in our local schools.

In keeping with our mission statement, focusing on variety, diversity, entertainment, and community service, the music director and board of directors plan several concerts throughout the year.

Center Stage Jazz and the Flute Ensemble are two additional programs to the band which give musicians another performing opportunity.
