About Us

North Grand Neighborhood Services (NGNS) is a not-for-profit organization that seeks to promote the dignity of low-income persons and the community in which they share by developing affordable housing, employment and training opportunities for youth, and other initiatives. NGNS was created in 2004 as a response to the challenges facing the community surrounding Sts. Teresa and Bridget Parish, located one mile north of Grand Center.

Angel Baked is a social enterprise of NGNS that empowers youth in North St. Louis by providing employment, small business training, and character development. Since 2007, Angel Baked has employed over thirty area teens. In an area where less than 50% of teens graduate from high school, 100% of teens who spend at least one year at Angel Baked have earned high school degrees. Angel Baked is a thriving business, producing over 45,000 cookies a year and growing. In 2011 it was the top award winner in the Youthbridge Social Entrepreneurship and Innovation Competition.
