Multiple Myeloma Opportunities for Research & Education

About Us

Most people have never heard of multiple myeloma. There are currently 60,000 patients in the United States with this rare blood cancer. This year, an estimated 26,000 patients will be diagnosed and 11,000 people will die of mutliple myeloma.

There is no cure and there is a high recurrence rate.

Multiple Myeloma Opportunities for Research & Education was founded in 2008 as a grassroots organization. MMORE provides the seed money for scientists to take an idea, a hope, a plan to demonstrate that their work merits large-scale funding from the National Cancer Institute and other major funders. It is an extremely critical role, especially with the decline in federal funding for cancer research.

We support the multiple myeloma community by educating the public about the disease and providing cancer research centers with the funding to discover opportunities for treatments and cures. We empower patients, families and research centers to accelerate cancer research funding for life-saving multiple myeloma discoveries.
