  • Mission

Help domestic violence victims gain immediate safety plus knowledge, skills, and resources to succeed in lives free of violence.

    About Us

Founded in 1994, Haven House Domestic Violence Services and Shelter began as an all-volunteer corps of concerned New Mexico citizens who banded together to provide advocacy services and emergency shelter for domestic violence victims. In 2001, Haven House Shelter made its official debut, with a five-bedroom facility on a safe, undisclosed site. After 17 years in existence, Haven House still remains the sole agency in all of Sandoval County (pop. 130,000) that is strictly dedicated to serving domestic violence victims and their families.

Our services include a 24-hour hotline, crisis/case management, legal advocacy, therapeutic counseling, support groups, life-skills training and temporary shelter. Haven House's devoted 25-member staff strives to empower courageous survivors of violence to heal their emotional wounds, seize their internal strength and regain control of their lives. Through educational outreach and trainings, we also seek to promote broader awareness about domestic violence among our community, with the ultimate goal of eliminating all forms of abuse--physical, sexual, emotional, verbal and financial.
