Reading Legacies

Reading Legacies' mission is to empower children and youth as valued family and community members through intergenerational shared-reading experiences. Our vision is that through shared-reading experiences, children and youth will have improved reading skills, increased self-esteem and greater connectedness to their families and communities. Reading Legacies' overarching goal is to give children the skills and security they need to be set up to succeed in reading, school and life. We believe that regular, shared-reading time with an important adult in their life - through its focus on words, illustrations, conversations, and connection - is a critical part of getting them prepared for reading independently as well as success in school and life.
