  • Mission

To improve the health and well-being of our neighbors by providing reliable access to nutritious food in welcoming environments through the generosity of volunteers, individuals and community partnerships.

    About Us

Health And Nutritional Development Empowered through Education (HAND-EE) became a 501C3 non-profit organization in April 2019. HAND-EE'S focus is on eliminating food insecurity in our communities by providing healthy choices of foods. We focus on fruits, vegetables, whole grains, proteins and fish.

HAND-EE is a proud Member Agency of Feeding America and the Food Bank of Central & Eastern North Carolina. During the 2020 pandemic, we distributed 18-20 pallets of food through our Community Drive Thru Food Giveaway on a weekly basis. Which led us to provide an astounding 88,600 meals to food-insecure households during the pandemic.

Each month we feed over 8000 individuals through our various feeding programs. Every Wednesday we drive to Raleigh and pick up 3 truck loads of food which is distributed throughout 6 counties.

Every 2nd Friday of each month we feed 3700 individuals during the Drive-Thru Food Giveaway. We accomplish this by giving out 18-20 thousand pounds of food. Goal: Primary focus is on combating food insecurity and ensuring everyone has access to basic necessities. We desire to feed 9000 individuals each month at the end of 2025.
