  • About Us

    Mission

The Multicultural AIDS Coalition mission is to mobilize communities of color to end the HIV epidemic.

Since 1989, MAC has worked to ensure high quality, accessible prevention, care, and treatment services for people living with HIV, at high risk for being infected, or closely affected by the disease. We support broader efforts to eradicate conditions that fuel the epidemic, including substance abuse, sexually transmitted infections, lack of healthcare access, homelessness, incarceration, and discrimination based on race, sex, ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity.

    MAC’s Values

MAC is more than an agency providing HIV/STI education, prevention, and screening services. MAC is a place where people from every corner of the community find common ground to face HIV and other health disparities.

People who are affected by HIV often feel unworthy and unwelcome at home, at religious organizations, and even at some health care agencies. At MAC, we offer information and support that allows clients to improve their lives and then reach out to others in the community. MAC is a place that believes in the value of every human life and that no kind of difference should keep us from helping each other to live healthy lives – with respect, dignity, and love. We have no doubt that our communities can end the HIV epidemic: if we continue to forge the determination and will to do so.
