  • About Us

MPC is a not-for-profit corporation, created by Montefiore Medical Center in 1981 to combat the housing decay and abandonment which had ravaged other areas of the Bronx and was beginning to appear in Montefiore's back yard. MPC's goal is to preserve and revitalize the Norwood neighborhood in cooperation with a wide range of community groups. The Corporation derives income from development projects and is governed by a board of directors made up of Montefiore trustees, community leaders and development experts serving in a pro bono capacity.
