Read Aloud Delaware

Read Aloud Delaware is a statewide nonprofit agency promoting early literacy. Our mission is to ensure that each preschool child in Delaware is regularly read to one-on-one. Our signature program is the Volunteer Reading Program. In this program carefully screened and trained volunteers go to child care centers serving low income families each week. Volunteer readers read to one child at a time for 5-10 minutes each week. Their goal is to read to every child in their classroom every week. We also provide information sessions for parents and workshops for early childhood professionals.
