JBJ Soul Kitchen
Mission
The JBJ Soul Kitchen seeks to provide healthy, locally grown food in a restaurant setting to an in-need and paying customer to address issues of food insecurity. We empower individuals by providing resources and volunteer opportunities. We encourage our paying customers to effect change in their community by paying it forward to cover the cost of in-need customers. We promise to treat all our customers with dignity and respect while uniting communities and forming healthy and lasting relationships through food.
About Us
We have no prices on our menus, we ask that people donate a minimum of $20, for a 3-course meal with iced tea, coffee and or hot tea. There are very few restaurants where you can get a seasonal, freshly made dinner with choice of entree for that price.
We ask that those in-need join our community through perhaps volunteering to help around the restaurants. We are trying to remove economic barriers while also connecting people to resources and services. The good news is there are lots of resources the bad news is most people don’t know about them.
We offer volunteer opportunities like server, busser, prep cook and dishwasher. No restaurant experience is needed.
