Prodigy Ventures Inc

Prodigy Ventures Inc is a network of social enterprises offering apprenticeship to low-income young adults who are not finding success in traditional work or school structures. In 2015, Prodigy’s founding team blended the best of instructional strategies and cognitive psychology to create a program that is now being explored as a national model. Our first enterprise, Prodigy Coffeehouse, opened July, 2016 in the Northeast Denver communities of Globeville-Elyria-Swansea. At Prodigy, young adults develop mindsets and skills not just for lifelong work as professionals in the new economy, but a basis to go beyond these walls and help Denver grow into a healthy, vibrant, equitable city. 

Prodigy’s impact goal is that apprentices secure meaningful, sustainable employment and experience economic mobility. Prodigy’s model draws inspiration from Homeboy Industries in Los Angeles. We have trained about 200 young adults and hired over 50 apprentices in our first four years of operation. In 2022 we plan to open a second coffeehouse with a new Learning Lab.
