  • Mission

St. Vincent de Paul provides financial, material, and spiritual assistance and support programs designed to promote self-sufficiency, stability and provide basic needs for Pierce County's most vulnerable individuals and families regardless of race, religion or orientation.

    About Us

St. Vincent de Paul of Tacoma, Pierce County is a local, non-profit, catholic lay organization, serving people in need since 1926. We welcome everyone with compassion, regardless of race, religion or orientation. We help without judgment and a deep regard for our shared humanity.

Many people know us for our thrift stores, but our mission is much broader:

    • We help people struggling to pay for basic needs like rent and utilities, by providing direct financial assistance.
    • We provide clothing and household goods for people making a fresh start.
    • We hire people to work in our thrift stores, many of whom are re-entering the workforce following personal crises.

In 2022, we provided more than $643,400 in direct financial assistance to more than 20,641 people in our community. Donations and proceeds from our thrift store in South Tacoma go directly to support help our neighbors in need.

Our generous donors and volunteers are the lifeblood of St. Vinnies! Please join us.
