In addition to reviving interest in the Blues in the local community with particular attention paid to engaging the Black community and its own culture.

    About Us

Piedmont Blues Preservation Society was started in 1985 in Greensboro, NC by a multicultural group of citizens from the Triad with the intent to maintain and promote Blues music and culture for the Triad region. PBPS is dedicated to growing & preserving the Blues Culture while supporting community, cultural & social causes.

Our organization founded the Carolina Blues Festival in 1985. This annual festival is the longest-running continuous Blues festival in the Southeast with 36 cultural concerts completed It has brought over 100,000 fans to the Piedmont triad region from all over the world.

Piedmont Blues Preservation Society started an education initiative named Blues in the Schools program. Other programs also include community outreach. We deploy musicians to elder care and special needs facilities to provide cultural exposure and entertainment to those who are not able to access it otherwise.

As a folk institution, we acknowledge the value of Blues as culture starting first with respect for the Blues people, followed by respect for all.
