About Us

We design and build safe, permanent and earth-friendly Earthbag homes, schools and community structures in Nepal and India, and teach and promote the use of earth-based sustainable building techniques.

Good Earth Global (formerly Good Earth Nepal) is a New York City-based, tax-deductible non-profit organization with headquarters in Kathmandu. Founded in response to Nepal’s catastrophic 2015 earthquake, we are now a recognized leader in bringing earth-friendly, sustainable building to those most in need.

Our technical consulting and lobbying recently convinced Nepal (population 30,000,000) to become the first country on Earth to officially approve of and recommend Earthbag construction, and our Earthbag design is now published in the Nepal government’s Design Catalogue For Reconstruction of Earthquake-Resistant Houses (Volume II). We’ve worked with or consulted for large NGOs and INGOs, and had journal articles published by the Earth Institute of Columbia University and in peer-reviewed technical journals.

On the ground we build sustainable, appealing, earthquake-resistant structures in Nepal’s poorest and most remote regions, and teach rural villagers to do the same.
