About Us

Plaza Community Services provides child care to the most economically disadvantaged families in East Los Angeles. Many of the families we serve are blue collar workers who earn less than minimum wage. The child development program gives priority to children that have been abused, neglected, referred by the court and children from low income parents who work, attend school or are seeking employment.

Our mission is to support children, youth, and families in need to develop and grow within a nurturing environment by providing effective, high quality health, education, housing, and other community services.

Plaza has three State Preschool Child Development Centers in East Los Angeles that serve 200 children from 3 to 4 years of age. Each classroom is staffed by a qualified Teacher and assistants, working under the supervision of the Site Supervisor and Director. The centers are open from Monday to Friday, five days per week from 6:30a.m to 6:00p.m. to meet the families’ rigorous work schedules. We provide two healthy meals and snacks every day.

We also have a Family Child Care Home Educational Network that serves over 300 children from 6 weeks to 3 years of age throughout East Los Angeles and neighboring cities. The days and hours of operation of our home network are determined at each home and may differ.
