The mission of MHS is to serve, nurture, and educate all students to be empowered and socially conscious individuals who are critical and analytical thinkers, prepared for careers and higher education in a global society.

    About Us

Located on a beautiful leafy green campus, Morningside High School is a beautiful setting for students in grades 9-12 to pursue academic goals in a supportive school environment. On September 2019, Morningside opened its first Community Schools Center located on campus that serves as a youth center and community hub for students, staff, families and partners. In the fall of 2005, Morningside was the first school in the Inglewood Unified School District to begin restructuring into Smaller Learning Communities (SLCs). Each new student now belongs to his or her own SLC-a small group of students who stay with the same teachers for core English and math classes for the first two years. The result is a closer, family-like environment with more personalized support for students.

Morningside has a strong standards-based fine arts program including classes in photography, ceramics, art, band, and dance. Clubs and extracurricular activities include MESA math/science, Science Club, Peer Mediators, Student Council, Omega Gents, MEChA, Black Student Union, Polynesian Club, Guitar Club, French Club, Gay-Straight Alliance, yearbook, football, soccer, basketball, softball, baseball, volleyball, tennis, cross country, track and field, drill team, and cheerleading, to name a few. Morningside also honors students’ diverse heritages through a variety of cultural celebrations.
