About Us

Since 1896 Volunteers of America Greater Los Angeles has provided a diverse range of human services throughout the community. We now serve more than 30,000 people annually ranging from prenatal to the elderly. Volunteers of America Greater Los Angeles believes that all people have tremendous capacity for increased insight and self-sufficiency. We are committed to finding solutions to social problems and pioneering new approaches that will move beyond assisting individuals in need to creating positive lasting changes for families, neighborhoods and communities. VOALA's newest program, Mentoring to Empower Children (MENTEC), is an East LA based one-on-one mentoring program dedicated to supporting and encouraging children of incarcerated parents to realize their unlimited potential and limitless possibilities to succeed.
