Jacksonville/Onslow Habitat for Humanity

We were established in 2005 as an affiliate of Habitat for Humanity International. We are a non-profit ecumenical Christian organization whose goal is to eliminate substandard housing in Onslow County, NC. Habitat for Humanity invites people from all walks of life to work together in partnership to help build and repair homes with families in need. Through volunteer labor and tax deductible donations of money and materials, Habitat builds and renovates simple, decent housing with the help of the homeowner and their families. Each homeowner participates in the process by working a required numbers of hours towards the completion of their home project. Houses are sold to partner families at no profit and financed with affordable no interest loans. Families are selected based on need, their willingness to participate and invest their time in the building process and their ability to repay the no interest loan. Money received from the homeowner¿s mortgage payments is used to finance the construction of other new homes in pursuit of our goal to eliminate substandard housing.
