About Us

The Friendship Circle of Greater Fort Lauderdale is an organization where we build friendships between young adults and children with special needs and our community, as well as offer meaningful activities to them to enhance their everyday lives. We offer 5 fun-filled, meaningful activities per month, as well as a Cafe, known as The Friendship Cafe where we train young adults with special needs daily in a life skills training program to help them succeed in life in the best way that they can.

During the covid pandemic, we are doing a lot of things to keep the Friendship Circle and the Friendship Cafe alive. For one, we offer several daily Zoom classes for our special needs friends, for which we gave out 150 complimentary iPads. Additionally, in order to keep the cafe open, we sent meals to front line workers, including police, doctors, nurses, paramedics and more, sponsored by our community.

For our latest project, we opened a catering kitchen where we are supplying two meals per day for 78 homeless veterans staying in hotels locally.
