The School of Social Work is over 100 years old and has been accredited ever since 1939. It is the only school of social work in the country that has a Center for Race & Social Problems. The school administers the 2nd largest child welfare program of colleges and universities and also was the first school of social work to offer community organization as a specialization. Certificate program opportunities exist in the areas of mental health, integrated health, children, youth and families, gerontology, school social work and human services management.
