About Us
Center for Children & Families, Inc. (CCFI) was founded in 1969. Formerly Juvenile Services, Inc., the agency changed its name in 1999 to better reflect the current services provided. As a non-profit United Way agency, CCFI sponsors seven major programs, including: Extended Families -- short-term foster care for children 0-18; Divorce Visitation Arbitration -- education and support services to keep children out of the middle of conflict surrounding divorce, separation, and visitation disputes; Home Visitation --education and support for victims of violence in their home setting; Neighborhood Centers -- accessible, intergenerational activities at school sites after school hours; Parents Assistance -- parent education and support for families struggling with issues of abuse; Study Buddies -- one-on-one peer tutoring/mentoring for all school students to increase their likelihood of early school success; and TeenAge Parenting -- parent education and support for pregnant and parenting teenagers to increase healthy outcomes for their children.
