Mission
Central Illinois Foodbank's mission is to provide food, and develop awareness of and creative solutions for food insecurity.
About Us
Central Illinois Foodbank, established in 1982 by a coalition of churches, distributes over 8.5 million pounds of food annually to over 150 food pantries, soup kitchens, residential programs and after-school programs in a 21 county region. Central Illinois Foodbank is a member of Feeding America, the nation's largest domestic hunger relief organization, and is a United Way certified agency.
Central Illinois Foodbank currently operates a 56,000 square foot distribution facility located in Springfield, Illinois. Central Illinois Foodbank is also proud to operate the Kids Cafe program with Springfield Urban League. Kids Cafe is a nation-wide program through Feeding America that feeds children a hot, nutritious meal in a safe environment.
