  • About Us

As the oldest free-standing pathology laboratory in the nation, the museum offers the opportunity to use your talents in a truly unique environment. Housing an autopsy room, amphitheater, laboratories and brain specimens, the museum gives visitors a glimpse of the earliest research in scientific psychiatry where, in 1896, scientists began the search for the physical causes of mental illness.
