BE A LIGHT MISSION SERVICE CENTER INC

Founded in 2020, Be a Light Mission Service Center, Inc. is a faith-based, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to rebuilding lives and restoring hope as an expression of our faith in Jesus Christ. Our mission is to encourage and empower individuals on their journey to independent living by providing supportive housing and community services to reduce homelessness.

At our day shelter, The Lighthouse, we served 40-50 people daily. It hurt every time we told a neighbor it was time to go knowing they had nowhere to stay. Or when someone asked for help with recovery after detoxing in the woods but with so few resources available, they go back to using. The Lighthouse was a start, but we must do more to reduce homelessness. It means having onsite, dedicated resources from our partners, not just referrals. For example, onsite mental health and urgent care instead of clogging up the ER with non-emergencies. Laundry and showers. Recovery classes. Job and “Adulting 101” classes. And a place to stay for people who want and need another chance. That is where you can help. We are looking for partners in this vision. We need land for expansion and future development of housing units. We need funding to launch and maintain this program. We need hands with hearts to volunteer. There are thousands of people in Pasco County who need this support. Join us!
