About Us

<img height="1" width="1">ABOUT EXPLORE!

Children are naturally curious and ask question of themselves and the world. At Explore! we inspire children to be curious thinkers, creators, communicators and collaborators. Explore! currently has two projects that it is supporting while it begins plans to build the Explore! Children’s Creativity Hub:

Explore! with the Portrait Gallery encourages children ages 18 months to 8 years to explore questions--What is a portrait? How do I see myself? How do others see me? --through interacting with hands-on exhibits. Developed in partnership with the Smithsonian National Portrait Gallery, this new exhibition opens January 28, 2017 and is free to all!

Mission Mobile, a retrofitted school bus, travels to local schools and offers students an exciting, immersive STEM-related learning experience. Students are inspired to become biologists, engineers, doctors, and physicists during missions that require teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity. Explore! Children's Museum of Washington, D.C.'s mission is to spark the curiosity and creativity of children and inspire wonder about the world.
