Do Good Institute
The mission of the University of Maryland’s Do Good Institute (DGI) is to create pioneers and entrepreneurial leaders who will address the challenges of the 21st century. As a campus-wide initiative, DGI exposes all students from orientation to graduation in experiences related to philanthropy, social innovation, and nonprofits/NGOs and operates numerous educational programs. DGI’s core tenet is that learning requires active participation and deep practical application. DGI works to infuse a culture of philanthropy and social innovation across the university, produce leaders and innovators through its academic programs, and dramatically enhance the larger field of philanthropy and social innovation through research and partnerships.
