For over 40 years, the Maryland League of Conservation Voters (Maryland LCV) has been the strategic and political voice of the environment in Maryland. We are passionate, professional, and nonpartisan. We build long-term mutually-beneficial relationships based on respect and trust. We believe climate change and environmental injustice are the most urgent environmental threats facing people and our planet. We fight to protect clean air and water as basic human rights. We promote policies and provide education guided by science. We strive for equity and racial justice in everything we do.

Maryland LCV works across the state, from the mountains of western Maryland to the beaches on the Eastern Shore – and everywhere in between. You will find our members wherever families and communities are fighting for clean water, healthy air and a resilient climate.

Nothing is more important than protecting the air we breathe, the water we drink, and the communities which we live, and all these issues have become even more urgent because of the climate crisis, especially in communities of color. We are working to ensure a healthy future for all our communities, neighborhoods, and families.

We advance climate legislation centered in racial justice and equity

We hold the Maryland General Assembly, Governor and other public officials accountable for effective policies and protections to address the impacts of climate change. We serve as a trusted resource on environmental issues for Maryland policymakers, community allies and partners. We elect more pro-environment statewide leaders by increasing the visibility of endorsements and support for candidates.
