    The East African Center for the Empowerment of Women and Children is a non-profit organization committed to assisting communities achieve empowerment through adult & child literacy programs, health education & poverty eradication projects.

    Working in collaboration with the communities in the Takaungu sub-location of Kenya, the Peace Corps, the Rotary, and the U.S. Jaycees, the EAC has built a community resource center which offers a variety of education based programs. Current programs include an extremely popular sewing club, two libraries, adult basic education, after school tutoring, a farmer's field school, health education and a nursury school.
