About Us
Founded in 1990 as Summerbridge and hosted at Isidore Newman School, Breakthrough New Orleans provides a multi-year academic enrichment program that builds a path from middle school to college for low-income students from the city’s public schools. Breakthrough also trains talented high school and college students to become educators and engaged citizens by giving them responsibility for teaching in the program. The program emphasizes academic excellence, family involvement, teamwork, leadership, creativity, and diversity.
