Conflux is the annual New York City festival where international artists, technologists, urban adventurers and the public put investigations of everyday city life into practice on the streets. The festival features a four-day program of artist-led walking tours, installations, street art, performance, bicycle and public-transit expeditions, workshops, a lecture series, a film program and live music.
At Conflux, people from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures come together to re-imagine the city as a playground, a space for positive change and an opportunity for civic engagement. Over the course of the festival the sidewalks are literally transformed into a mobile laboratory for creative action. Conflux attendees are introduced to the ways cutting-edge artists with diverse points of view address topics ranging from environmental issues and emerging technologies to the development of creative DIY initiatives and playful efforts to humanize cities by encouraging dialogue amongst communities.
