Bloom Our Youth

Founded in 1986, Bloom Our Youth (d.b.a. "Bloom") is a social service nonprofit organization serving foster care children and families throughout Georgia.

Our programs provide a balance of services and support that are transforming the foster care system by connecting the community to evidence-based, outcome-driven programs that strengthen the lives of vulnerable children and their foster families. Bloom's mission is to “strengthen children in foster care and empower the families who care for them,” and we believe that every child has the right to achieve their personal best, despite their circumstances.

Bloom advocates for foster children and families using a three-pronged approach: 1) In our Bloom Foster Parent program, we recruit, train, and certify foster families and oversee the placement of foster children into their homes. 2) At Bloom University, we provide monthly training classes to equip foster families with the knowledge, training and skills needed to address common issues that traumatized children face. 3) The Bloom Closet provides free clothing and essential items to foster children in a fun, boutique-like environment. Last year at The Bloom Closet, we served over 4,500 foster children who traveled from 90 Georgia counties to visit the “store.”

Bloom’s vision is that every child has a safe, nurturing family. Our programs are designed to serve children and their foster families for the best possible outcomes so that all children can have the opportunity to thrive. Bloom is changing the lives of foster children every day in Georgia.
