    The Great Northern Arts Society is a non-for-profit organization governed by 8-person board of directors. The society was established in 1988. Our mandate is to foster the training and education of Northern artists, to promote Northern art and artists world-wide, and to involve the community and visitors in an annual celebration of Northern art & culture. Now in our 27th year, the Great Northern Arts Festival provides one of the most entertaining, & authentic cultural northern attractions each summer in the NWT. Proudly receiving visitors from around the world, the Great Northern Arts Festival is a unique fusion of visual, performing and multidisciplinary arts, promoting arctic tradition and culture, where northern artists share their skill and knowledge with each other and all in attendance.
