About Us

Habitat for Humanity of Southwest Utah (HFHSWU) was established in May 1998, for the purpose of building homes in partnership with low-income families in need of safe, decent, affordable housing. In our fifteen years, our affiliate has constructed or rehabilitated 19 homes in Washington County, providing affordable housing for 92 individuals. Our vision is a world where everyone has a decent place to live.

Our organization provides affordable housing for local low-income families by acquiring improved lots to build new homes or existing single family homes for rehabilitation. At the completion of the building or rehabilitation process, Habitat homeowner partners purchase the home from HFHSWU at cost using a 0% interest mortgage. HFHSWU transfers ownership of the property to its homeowner partners at time of closing.

During the process of rehabilitating an existing home, we upgrade many facets of the home to meet current building codes and improve energy efficiency.
