About Us
The Waterside School For Leadership, along with its parents and community members, is dedicated to serving the diverse scholars of New York City by creating a collaborative and supportive educational environment where college bound scholars in grades 6-8 are Leaders of their Lives, Learning and Community. SCALE fosters in our students a sense of community, an understanding of leadership and a commitment to ethical behavior that encourages them to become positive change agents in high school, college and beyond.
Students will lead their life (by engaging in appropriate, scholarly behaviors and engaging in rigorous leadership preparation courses), lead their learning (by setting goals, asking for help and tracking progress to their Individualized Learning Plans) and lead their community (through community service, outreach and research).
