About Us

ASLA’s mission is to lead, to educate, and to participate in the careful stewardship, wise planning, and artful design of our cultural and natural environments. It is a professional peer association that operates on two levels—national and local.

The Potomac Chapter represents approximately 400 landscape architects in the Greater Washington DC area. The Chapter is dedicated to the wise stewardship of land providing community service, public education, and visibility for the profession of landscape architecture. The Chapter is the main advocacy body to advance the profession on the local level by holding events, meetings, and outings and providing information regarding the profession to the local media and schools. The Chapter may also interface with municipal governments regarding local issues that could impact the profession or the public realm.
