One Silverstar

We all have a purpose most of us don't know what it is... In essence we need to be the best that we can be I consider myself a pebble in the pond small but yet mighty. When a pebble hits the water, the impact is a small splash however you can see the ripple effect that expands way beyond one can see. The things that you do in life You never know how that ripple effect has impacted a family more so a community. 

Since starting their for-profit business Logan's Kids Resale in 2014 Cassandra Logan has assisted many families and individuals in need The vision of Logan's Kids Resale is to empower the families by allowing them to work on empowerment by giving them a hand up approach instead of a handout. There is an old Chinese proverb saying; give a man a fish, and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.

Out of this vision One Silverstar was formed in 2021. One Silverstar will be the continuation of the empowerment Visions initiated by Logan's kid's Resale. We will continue the implementation of the Kids Club & Birthday Club in addition continue the distribution of toys & clothes for Christmas, the distribution of the filled back to school book bag event and handing out Easter baskets. Also, on an as-needed basis continue to distribute vouchers (clothes & shoes) to families the that has endured an immediate( house fire) hardship. 

As an added resource that is greatly needed to help a address a lack of affordable & adequate housing, the funds obtained from this campaign will:

• Assist those families or individual by obtaining a two-family flat
• Create a transition house for men to have access to while trying to get back up on their feet. They will have the opportunity to rent a room on a temporary basis: 3, 6, 9 or 12 mos. or longer if needed. In addition, they will also be linked to other services such as getting a bank account, job assistance and resources on how to buy a home or permanent living housing.

Creating independence and confidence for our men population is greatly needed. Will you be a pebble in the pond that will cause a ripple effect?
