About Us

The Hawaii State Chapter of Children's Justice Centers brings together five Children's Justice Centers with their nonprofit Friends groups as a collaborative statewide network, dedicated to minimizing trauma and promoting better outcomes for child abuse victims and their families.  We do this through trainings by national experts for local professionals on all aspects of child abuse, and outreach to school staff regarding mandatory reporting of abuse.  The Chapter also works to educate the broader Hawaii community promoting abuse prevention, increasing awareness of child abuse signs and symptoms, as well as providing information on how best to respond to a child's disclosure of abuse.  This helps ensure child abuse cases are properly investigated and prosecuted, and that victims are best supported in their healing and recovery.
