About Us

• To teach people about the interdependence of all living things and the importance of preserving the world’s wildlife and natural environments;

• To support conservation initiatives around the globe that expand our knowledge of animals and help maintain delicate ecosystems;

• To enrich the lives of the animals in its care through naturalistic exhibits, behavioral enhancement, and quality veterinary care;

• To operate in a fiscally responsible manner through a successful private/public partnership;

• To serve its public through quality visitor services and by maintaining a true zoological gardens in the heart of Chicago;

• To remain free and open to all, every day of the year.
