About Us

Immaculate Conception School (ICS) is a private, 501(c)3 non-profit, Catholic school, comprised of: state licensed preschool (2-3 year olds), traditional kindergarten (4 year olds) and grades K-8. The school was founded in 1918 and celebrated its 100th year anniversary in 2018. We are located next to downtown Los Angeles and serve a predominantly Latinx community. Demographics: 94% hispanic/latino, 2% Asian, 2% African/African American, 2% other. Our mission is to provide a quality, justice-centered education to the children of the Pico Union and provide a strong foundation for the pathway out of poverty.  Students are empowered to be confident leaders who are college-bound and committed to making a difference. The vast majority of those served through ICS live within incomes levels at or below the poverty level. ICS’s greatest need is to partner with individuals in our community who seek to help provide a pathway out of poverty to children in need through providing the gift of top quality education.
