  • Mission

The Johnstown Historical Society enriches our community through the preservation, interpretation, and dissemination of collected local culture.

    About Us

The Johnstown Historical Society was founded in 1988 to educate the public about Johnstown's unique history and preserve it for future generations. JHS manages the Historic Parish House and Museum at 701 Charlotte Street in Johnstown, Colorado. We have an awesome group of dedicated volunteers and are always looking for new ones to join our different task-oriented teams.

A few of our events are the annual and well attended Stitches in Time Quilt and Craft Fair, our History and Mystery Cemetery Crawl, and Holiday open house. We're also expanding our open days at the museum and are currently seeking a few volunteer docents. We have other volunteer opportunities as well. We'd love to hear from you!
