As a teacher, I understand that a quality education is the foundation of a successful life. I also understand that a student’s academic success is just as strongly affected by the quality of their life outside of school. Economic, racial, and educational inequality cannot be addressed separately. Our children cannot succeed in school when their families are struggling.
