    About Us

Upper Lowlands, Inc. (YWCA) is nonprofit membership organization incorporated in August 1967, as a member of the national YWCA, an autonomous women’s movement. We have been at the fore-front of social change ever since. Today, the YWCA of the Upper Lowlands service women, youth, families and seniors in Sumter, Lee and Clarendon Counties.

As part of a worldwide women’s movement in over 70 countries, the YWCA of the Upper Lowlands strives every day to achieve: Race and gender equity; Economic independence for women; Respect for diverse cultures; and A place where children and youth thrive.

Regardless of race or economic status, the YWCA of the Upper Lowlands provides women with the support and tools they need to transform their lives, be confident in their choices and raise healthy families. We are dedicated to promoting racial justice and personal empowerment across all of our pro-grams and service.
