  • About Us

The General Society of Mayflower Descendants (GSMD) established itself as a non-profit group in 1897. It is the mission of the Society to honor their Pilgrim ancestors who arrived in America aboard the Mayflower in 1620, and to join together the people who share this heritage. The Society has over 28,000 members around the world, with 52 member societies representing all 50 U.S. states, the District of Columbia, & Canada. The national headquarters is in Plymouth, MA, where the Society operates a research library and maintains The Mayflower Society House, an 18th century home originally built by Edward Winslow, a direct descendant of the pilgrim Edward Winslow. The House is open for tours seasonally. For more information about The Mayflower Society, visit www.TheMayflowerSociety.org.
